Coming in 1996!

Software Sculptors, in conjunction with Central Park Media, has created a new Anime desktop product, a CD-ROM version of the classic Japanese animated title Roujin-Z in Quicktime format.

Roujin-Z is an original animated production created and written by Otomo, director of the enormously popular animated film Akira; the film that created an awareness of Japanese animation in America. Roujin-Z is the story of an old bedridden man, who becomes a human guinea pig for a medical experiment, and a young woman who tries everything in her power to save him. While rescuing the old man, the bed turns into a giant robot and travels on a wall-crashing, high-speed journey across Tokyo. It is an insightful look at how we care for the elderly and technology's influence on our lives. Scheduled for release in 1996, Roujin-Z is sure to have a large following.

Mr. Otomo has given us some of the most exciting and memorable moments in Japanese animation. Some of Otomo's achievements include character designs for Harmageddon (1983), the direction and character designs for The Order To Stop The Construction in the animated anthology Manie Manie, the opening and ending animation in Robot Carnival, and helping to create Japanese animation awareness in America with the unforgettable cyberpunk classic, Akira. Otomo has been truly instrumental in setting new standards for Japanese animation.
